The Northern Territory (NT) Government is seeking applications for its Horticultural Netting Program to provide funding to primary producers of horticultural crops for the purchase and installation of new netting or the replacement of damaged netting, over commercial land used to grow horticulture crops in the Northern Territory.
Funding Information
- The Fund consists of a total of $365,740 in grants for primary producers of horticultural crops in the Northern Territory.
- It will provide a grant for up to 50 percent of costs to purchase and install new structures, including supporting structures and permanent or throw over netting.
- Payments to eligible primary producers will be 50 percent of the costs incurred by primary producers, up to a maximum of $100,000 (ex GST), in grant funding per applicant per year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible organisation means an entity that satisfies the following criteria:
- is a legal entity (a natural person or an incorporated entity), with or without a registered business name; and
- holds a valid Australian Business Number and has been operating the business of a primary producer under that number for at least one year; and
- Is registered with the Australian Taxation Office as a primary production business;
- was operating its business of primary producer from a property situated in the Northern Territory prior to 14 December 2021 and have not previously received funding from any entity to complete an eligible project; and
- has a history of substantial compliance with all legislative requirements relating to its governance or the carrying on of its business and is fully compliant as at the date of the application; and
- earn more than 50% of its total revenue from the business of primary production carried out on the property (including ancillary processing or production of market ready products derived direct from produce grown on the property);
- either own, lease, licence or otherwise have the lawful right to carry out an eligible project on the property the subject of the application.
