The U.S. Mission to Ecuador through the Public Diplomacy Section (PDS), announces an open competition for organizations and individuals to submit proposals to implement projects with innovative approaches to counter irregular migration in Ecuador.
Program Objectives
- Proposals may be focused on, but not limited to:
- Raising Public Awareness through Information Campaigns
- Strengthening Security Cooperation
- Promoting Economic Growth
- Fostering Community Development
- Enhancing Soft Skills Development
- Encouraging Innovative Solutions
- Innovative Approaches to Migration Challenges
- Promoting Collaborative Efforts
Please be aware that projects funded through this grant must include a “U.S. component.” A “U.S. component” generally refers to a characteristic of a project or program that reflects or involves some aspect of the United States. This could include a variety of factors such as:
- American Values and Culture: Programs that promote understanding of American values, culture, and policies. This can include cultural exchange programs, educational initiatives, and projects that highlight American history, arts, or societal norms.
- Involvement of U.S. Citizens or Organizations: Projects that involve American citizens or institutions, such as universities, non-profits, or private companies. This could mean collaboration with American experts, guest speakers, or volunteers.
- Promotion of U.S. Foreign Policy Objectives: Initiatives that align with and support the U.S. foreign policy goals. For example, projects that encourage democratic governance, human rights, economic development, or international security can be seen as having a U.S. component.
- Exchange Programs: Projects that facilitate exchange programs between the U.S. and Ecuador, allowing for the mutual sharing of knowledge, culture, and experiences.
- Educational Programs: Programs that support the teaching of the English language or American studies abroad, including English language training, American literature, history, and government.
Funding Information
- Award amounts: Awards may range from a minimum of $15,000.00 to a maximum of $30,000.00.
- Length of performance period: up to 15 months. Proposed programs should be completed by December 2025 or sooner.
- Anticipated program start date: To be considered for FY2024, all programs must start before September 30, 2024.
Participants and Audiences
- Program participants should be ages 15 or older.
Eligibility Criteria
- Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations. For-profit organizations are not eligible.
- Individuals.
- Public and private educational institutions.
- Public International Organizations and Governmental institutions.
