Novo Nordisk Fonden is accepting applications for the Humanitarian Support Program to support humanitarian initiatives and actions targeting vulnerable populations affected by a sudden onset and/or protracted humanitarian crises. The Humanitarian Support open call for applications is a biannual call (spring and fall).
The Foundation encourages pioneering approaches and explorative efforts that seek new solutions to support the world’s most vulnerable populations. Preference will be given to applicants applying a gender-sensitive approach.
Areas of Support
- The Humanitarian Support open call for applications is geographically unrestricted and applicants are encouraged to submit applications for projects that are implemented in their strategic focus areas and geographical strongholds.
- Applications can cover all areas of humanitarian interventions incl. direct service delivery, rigid evaluations, research, and innovative approaches to solutions for people in need.
Funding Information
- A total of up to DKK 17 million is available for grants between DKK 500.000 and DKK 2 million for projects lasting up to one year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations and institutions with registration in Denmark, specifically documented with a Danish CVR number, may apply for grants in the Humanitarian Support open call for applications. Implementing through and sub-granting to strong local partners will be considered an advantage in the application evaluation process. Only the Danish-based applicant will be entitled to submit an application through the online application system.
- The Novo Nordisk Foundation will only accept applications from internationally recognized and highly transparent organizations and institutions whose annual reports and annual audited financial reports are publicly available.
- The Foundation also expects applicant organizations and institutions to have implemented a code of conduct or similar by which they are guided and with which they comply in accordance with ethical and humanitarian guidelines and standards, e.g. the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS). CHS certification is not a requirement.
Application Process
- Applications must be submitted using the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s online application system, NORMA. Applications must include a brief summary of the project together with a detailed project description of up to 20,000 characters and a budget for the project.
- Please limit the number of appendixes to an absolute minimum.
- Applicants are requested to read the application guidelines, ”Information and Guidelines for Applicants”, thoroughly before initiating the application process.
- Please note that only organisational applicants are eligible for this call, which is of particular importance when creating a profile in the online application system, NORMA.
