The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is seeking applications for the Conservation Technical Assistance in Vermont for Grazing Program.
NRCS provides technical and financial assistance to private landowners and land managers who voluntarily agree to apply conservation practices on their land for the conservation and improvement of natural resources, including grazing and harvest management for all lands where grazing and/or browsing are managed.
NRCS Vermont seeks eligible applicants to provide assistance with continued delivery of conservation planning, implementation, oversight and checkout activities associated with prescribed grazing and forage harvest management practices. Assistance will be provided to current and potential NRCS program participants for the planning, designing and implementation of grazing and forage harvest management systems and practices that contribute to agricultural viability, pasture and livestock health, water quality improvements, soil and plant health, wildlife habitat improvement and other natural resource enhancements.
Activities
Specific activities include the following:
- Conducting on-site prescribed grazing inventory and analysis;
- Prescribed Grazing Plan Development for new NRCS customers;
- Prescribed Grazing Plan Review and Revision for existing NRCS customers;
- EQIP Grazing/Forage practice layout, implementation and checkout;
- National Resource Inventory (NRI) forage assessment;
- Scheduling and implementing Pasture Walks and Workshops;
- Developing NRCS Technical notes and updating Conservation Practice Standards all activities conducted on behalf of NRCS will meet NRCS program policy and conservation practice standards and specifications.
Funding Information
The funding floor for this opportunity $50,000.00 and the funding ceiling is $110,000.00.
