The European Commission (EC) is calling for proposals for European Year of Youth Grants Programme.
Objectives
- The principal objective of the call is to encourage and to facilitate the active engagement of European young citizens with the construction of a vibrant European democracy keeping particularly in mind their participation in the European Elections 2024. The European Parliament is looking to co-finance projects articulating a coherent, consistent and cost efficient work programme encompassing two types of actions:
- The first action consist in creating pan-European networks of advocates for democratic participation, by selecting young people to be trained. Each network of advocates should cover at least seven European Union Member States. The applicant has to detail in the project proposal the choice of countries that they have made as well as the process of identification and selection of young advocates forming the new pan-European networks.
- The second action consists in design and implementation of capacity building through training, aiming at providing the young advocates with skills, competences and tools to play an active role in the democratic life and in the promotion of the democratic values, including the participation in the European Elections in 2024.
Funding Information
- The available budget for this call is EUR 1.000.000.
- Duration: The implementation period of the actions financed under this call should take place between the starting date of the actions and 31/04/2023.
Expected Outcomes
The expected results of the actions financed under this call are:
- An increased awareness among young European citizens about the action of the European Union and its institutions, in particular the European Parliament;
- The establishment of pan-European participatory channels, connecting the European Parliament with the younger citizens and encouraging their active participation in together, the platform of the European Parliament;
- An increased engagement of young European citizens with the construction of a vibrant European democracy, thus encouraging their active involvement and participation in the European Elections 2024 communication campaign.
Eligibility Criteria
- The actions supported under this call are mono-beneficiary actions. This means that there is one legal entity applying for a grant. Applications presented by consortia are not eligible. To be eligible for a grant, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are:
- A pan-European youth organisation or a pan-European civil society organisation. For the purpose of this call, the concept of pan-European organisation refers:
- To either national membership organisations part of a network of organisations sharing common values. Only organisations part of a network represented in seven or more Member States can present proposals to this call;
- or to organisations representing the interest of a wide group of member organisations from different Member States. Only organisations with member organisations from seven or more Member States can present proposals to this call.
- A pan-European youth organisation or a pan-European civil society organisation. For the purpose of this call, the concept of pan-European organisation refers:
- A legal person constituted and registered as not for profit entity or equivalent according to the national legislation, for at least three years at the time of application;
- Based in one of the Member States of the European Union;
- Legal person with nonpartisan political affiliation.
