Deadline: 15-May-23
The Engaging Central Europe (ECE) program run by The German Marshall Fund of the United States is launching a special call for proposals for funding to support civil society organizations in Poland that work for equality and strengthening women’s participation in public debate and democratic processes.
Although women should enjoy equal rights and opportunities, their participation in public life is still insufficient. Social and political tensions often exclude them from making key political decisions, which directly affects their lives and the situation of the entire social group.
Priorities
- Priority will be given to projects that:
- They increase women’s public participation through awareness raising, advocacy or education campaigns.
- In an innovative way, they increase the civic engagement of women at the local, regional or national level, with particular emphasis on their participation in public deliberation, political decision-making or monitoring of political processes.
- They try to reach new recipient groups, including novice activists and adapting to current needs.
- They mobilize their target groups in a sustainable way.
- They deepen cooperation with other organizations and sectors, build and strengthen networks of pro-democracy activists.
Funding Information
- Under this call, ECE will support short and medium-term projects of 4 to 12 months duration. Grants of $10,000 to $20,000 will be available to organizations with a proven track record of supporting women’s participation.
Eligibility Criteria
- The organizations must be legally registered in Poland.
- They especially encourage organizations that engage citizens from small towns and rural areas to apply.
