With support from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, Nillumbik Shire Council is offering a number of one-off grants to celebrate the Victorian Seniors Festival 2022. If you and your community group or organisation have an innovative community event or activity that celebrates healthy ageing, they want to hear from you.
Aims
- To recognise and celebrate people over 55 in the Shire of Nillumbik
- To encourage participation of older people in community activities and events
- To encourage older people to learn new skills
- To encourage older people to build social connections
- To promote healthy ageing
Funding Information
Up to $500 from a grant pool of $3000
What can be funded?
- Funding is available for one-off costs associated with running a low cost or free event or activity during the 2022 Seniors Festival throughout the month of October.
- Examples of events or activities include:
- Morning teas
- Exhibitions or showcases
- ‘Come and try’
- Musical performances
- Information sessions and forums
Eligibility Criteria
- The event or activity must take place in Nillumbik Shire Council
- Incorporated non-profit community groups/ organisations or unincorporated groups which are auspiced by an incorporated body that will deliver activities/projects in Nillumbik
- Minimum $10 million public liability insurance
- Applicants must have acquitted and be compliant with all grants previously awarded by Council
