The Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development is inviting applications from Non-Governmental Organizations providing humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem, and to Palestinian refugees in Syria and Lebanon.
The Fund also supports projects that help Palestinians highlight their history and struggle to Western audiences. The Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development is an independent, registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
It aims to foster greater awareness about Palestine, in the United States and abroad, and to ameliorate the lives of Palestinians in Palestine and the diaspora. The Fund accomplishes these goals through three programs: the Humanitarian Link raises funds to provide relief, medical services, and community development support; the Palestine Center hosts educational and policy analysis lectures and conferences in the DC area and disseminates information online; and the cultural arm features an active art gallery called Gallery Al-Quds, a film series, and musical and literary offerings.

- Typical grant awards range from $1,000 to $5,000.
Grant Application Tips & Best Practices
- The Jerusalem Fund prioritizes funding for projects that prove immediate impact and long-term viability . Projects that “continue to give” long after financial assistance from the Jerusalem Fund is dispersed have higher chances of being approved during a grant cycle. For instance: Reusable equipment such as computers, solar panels or hospital equipment, etc.
- The Jerusalem Fund does not approve grants to cover salaries, honorariums, transportation or any other administrative costs. Applications that request the mentioned items from the Jerusalem Fund will be disregarded.
- After a grant is approved, the Jerusalem Fund reserves the right to request photos, receipts or proof of intended purchase before the transferring of funds.
- Before and after pictures are required for all projects approved by the Jerusalem Fund.
- Specific project location information is a requirement for all grant applications. GPS coordinates will also be accepted.
- All questionnaire and picture requirements must be met for all grantees.
- NGOs with a solid online and social media (in the English and Arabic language) presence are looked highly upon and information on such should be included in all grant request applications.
Note: Applicants must complete the Jerusalem Fund’s Grant application form and submit it in electronic format using the submission form. Please do NOT email them. As of September 2017, the Jerusalem Fund will no longer be accepting applications in Arabic.
