Deadline: 23-May-22
The United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County is seeking applications for its Pride United Equity Fund.
Funds were raised by Pride United, a group of LGBTQ+ leaders, allies, and advocates committed to addressing key issues that disproportionately affect members of the LGBTQ+ community. They give advocates, and volunteer in issue areas in the Queer community that will drive measurable investment, change and impact in the four-county footprint.
Anti-Racism Statement
- United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County unequivocally denounces racism and ethnic discrimination in all its forms because it undermines the well-being and vitality of the communities and is in direct opposition to what it means to Live United.
- They recognize that structural racism, ethnic discrimination, and other forms of oppression have contributed to racial and ethnic disparities that have existed in the past and persist in the present and that they have an opportunity and responsibility to change these systems.
- They acknowledge those inequities are the result of policies and practices that work to marginalize entire populations of people.
- United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County is committed to working with the community to end these inequalities.
- To accomplish this, they know they must engage the entire community, especially those whose voices have historically been marginalized, in support of the shared work for fortifying equity and empowerment.
- They will continue to work with public and private partners to co-create solutions that ensure everyone has the resources, support, opportunities, and networks they need to thrive.
- They commit to leveraging the assets to create more equitable communities.
