The EU4AGRI project announces a new public call for potential users of grants for a measure of support for investments in processing capacities and marketing of agricultural and food products, worth 2 million KM.
The public call to potential users of grants for the measure of support for investments in processing capacities and marketing of agricultural and food products will be implemented with the support of the Project “European Union Support for the Competitiveness of Agriculture and Rural Development in BiH” – EU4AGRI.
The project aims to modernize the agri-food sector and improve the rural economy by increasing the competitiveness of agricultural production, jobs and services, mitigating the negative economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on agri-food companies and rural tourism operators, and ensuring the continuity of their business.
Objectives of the Support Measure
- In order to achieve sustainable agriculture, controlled use of natural resources and introduction of good practices The project expects to achieve the following goals through the implementation of measures to support investments in processing capacities, marketing of agricultural and food products and ensuring business continuity and a safe and healthy working environment:
- contribution to stabilizing/strengthening production competitiveness and increasing/maintaining the level of productivity of the food industry through modernization and introduction of new technologies, innovations, and promotion of added value of agricultural and food products;
- improvement of product quality, hygiene and food safety through the introduction of basic and higher standards quality;
- promoting good practices and sustainable development by improving natural resource management, environmental protection, worker protection and food safety;
- business protection from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the use of new business the opportunity to strengthen business and access new markets;
- mitigating operational and financial losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic;
- reduction of operating costs, investment in equipment required for safe packaging of products, personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools for a safe workplace.
Funding Information
- Support funds per application can amount from 30,000 KM to 300,000 KM and can only be used to finance eligible costs (the stated amounts do not include VAT, which is considered an unacceptable cost).
- The maximum amount of requested financial support for projects that fall under LOT1 cannot exceed 80,000 KM (amount without VAT), while the amount of requested financial support for projects that fall under LOT2 must be from 80,001 KM to 300,000 KM (amounts without VAT a).
Eligible Geographic Region for Projects
- As part of this public call, applications for projects that will be implemented on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina are acceptable.
Eligibility Criteria
- Crafts, entrepreneurs, cooperatives and companies, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises employing less than 250 workers, and all projects exclusively related to the production of products for human consumption and within the sectors: fruit processing, mushroom processing , medicinal herbs, herbs, winemaking and olive processing, vegetable processing, milk processing, honey processing, meat processing, egg processing, fish processing and canning, grain processing, and the production of ready-made food and meals .
- Applicants may submit only one application to this public call. Applicants can submit applications for projects defined by this public call exclusively independently. Applications from multiple applicants within one proposal will not be taken into account. Applicants are responsible for the realization of the project, including financial obligations.
- Applicants who in the previous period used financial support through the measure of support for investments in processing capacities and marketing of agricultural and food products (refers to the measure financed by EU4AGRI/EU4AGRI-Recovery) are considered unacceptable applicants.
- The applicant who has an active contract with the EU4AGRI project related to the measure of support for investments in primary agricultural production must fully implement the investment from the active contract (e.g. get approval for the Investment Report), and fully fulfill all the obligations prescribed by it, including those based on employment, as well as achieving an increase in income in accordance with the dynamics specified in the business plan in order to be an acceptable beneficiary of financial support as part of this public call.
