The CARE Balkans (CARE), in cooperation with partner organizations in the region: ENECA (Republic of Serbia), EWI – Economic Inclusion and Justice for Women of the Western Balkans Entrepreneurial Center (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Strategic Development Consulting (North Macedonia) and Tehnopolis (Montenegro) – are implementing the project Economic Inclusion and Justice for Women in the Western Balkans (EWI).
This three-year project, which is in its initial phase, aims to empower and realize the economic rights of women in the Western Balkans.
Funding Information
- Financial support in the amount of EUR 10,000.00 per organization (total fund available for 3 The OCD is EUR 30,000.00)

- Four-day training on key topics (collaboration with communities, advocacy, public speaking, soft skills, leadership and organizational administrative and financial management);
- Two-day online fundraising training, including training in writing project proposals and use of crowdfunding platforms;
- Online consultations with CARE experts for the development of project ideas and funding strategies.

- Increased reputation through project communication activities at the local and regional level;
- Connecting with local government, decision-makers and other CSOs through joint activities and advocacy initiatives;

Expected Project Results
- Women entrepreneurs in selected target regions develop and improve sustainable businesses through financial and technical support;
- Increased employability of women in target regions through skills development, certified vocational education and training;
- Improved environment for women’s economic inclusion at the community and societal levels;
- Strengthened capacities of institutional actors for integrating gender-sensitive approaches into employment and entrepreneurship programs.

- The target area of the project includes: Herzegovina-Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (Mostar, Jablanica, Prozor-Rama, Konjic, Stolac, ÿapljina, ÿitluk, Neum, Ravno), West Herzegovina Canton
Eligibility Criteria
- CSOs that meet the following criteria can apply to the Public Call:
- Organizations led by women and/or whose programs are focused on women’s empowerment, active in the cities and municipalities of: Mostar, Jablanica, Konjic, Prozor-Rama, Stolac, ÿapljina, ÿitluk, Neum, Ravno, Gornji VakufUskoplje, Bugojno, Široki Brijeg, Ljubuški, Posušje and Grude, Trebinje, Ljubinje and Bileÿa;
- Registered for a minimum of 3 years as an association, with active status, organized on democratic principles and transparent operations;
- 100% domestically owned;
- They achieve positive business results (reported profit for the period 2022-2024);
- Experience in women’s economic empowerment and other women’s support activities;
- Foster a gender-sensitive and community-based approach;
