Deadline: Ongoing Opportunity
The County Durham Community Foundation is pleased to launch the Quixwood Moor Wind Farm Fund to provide funding for capital items, improvements to community buildings, biodiversity and habitat conservation projects, energy conservation and revenue for community based or led projects in the area of the Quixwood Wind Farm.
Key Themes
The projects or activities that fall within the following key themes:
- supporting health and well-being
- encouraging rural regeneration
- providing amenities for community use
- delivering education and training, employment and/or social welfare
- promoting energy efficiency, environmental protection, or landscape conservation
Funding Information
- Grants of up to £5,000 (up to £10,000 in exceptional circumstances) are available for community organizations
- There are no closing dates for applications and they can be submitted at any time.
What they will not fund?
- Services or facilities which are already funded by the local authority or other statutory body at the time of application
- The promotion of political activities
- Projects of no benefit to the eligible area or its inhabitants
- Applications from national or regional charities with no independent office in the eligible area
- Projects relating to improvements to land that is not open to the general public requests for sponsorship
- Requests for deficit or retrospective funding for projects and activities that have already taken place
- A statutory or other legal duty of a governmental department, local authority or other public body to carry on
Eligibility Criteria
- The geographical boundaries for fund eligibility will normally be restricted to the ward areas of Grantshouse Community Council and Abbey St Bathans, Bonkyll and Preston Community Council.
- Projects from adjoining community councils may also be eligible provided that if it can be shown that local people from the two community councils above can also benefit from these projects.
- Your organization does not have to be a registered charity to apply but must have charitable aims. Community groups and voluntary organizations operating within and benefiting people who live in the eligible areas will also be considered for grant assistance. Examples include:
Priority will be given towards supporting eligible schemes and projects identified as priorities in the two Community Councils' Community Action Plans.
