The Australian Government has announced the Regional Arts Fund (RAF) Quick Response Grants for small arts projects, professional development for artists and arts workers, and community capacity building projects.
Quick Response Grants aim to support small arts or cultural projects that cannot be funded by other means because of their nature or timing. For example, you may wish to attend a workshop or complete a project within a certain time frame and cannot access appropriate funding through any other means.
Funding Information
- Funding applications for up to $3,000 for individuals and up to $5,000 for organizations are available through this grant program.
- The maximum grant period for Project Grants is two years and for Quick Response Grants is one year.
Eligible Funding
Regional Arts Fund grant funds may be used toward the cost of producing the project including but not limited to:
- Artist fees (artists should be appropriately paid)
- Travel costs (including international)
- Materials
- Venue hire
- Equipment hiring
- Insurance
- Project administrative costs
- Disability access costs
Purchase of assets up to $5,000 will only be considered where it is demonstrated to be more cost effective than hire. You can only spend grant funds on eligible grant activities as defined in the grant details in your grant agreement.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible you must:
- be an individual or Australian incorporated organization or local government organisation3
- have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) that is registered to your name and
- location if required by the Australian Tax Office, be registered for the purposes of GST
- not have any outstanding reports, acquittals or serious breaches relating to any Australian
- Government funding or funding from a state or territory Regional Program Administrator. A serious breach is one that has resulted in, or warrants, the termination of a grant agreement.
- Schools are only eligible to apply if they are located in a very remote area.
Ineligible
You are not eligible to apply if you are:
- An unincorporated organization not auspiced by an organization that meets the eligibility criteria.
- A for profit company.
- An organization or individual based outside of regional or remote Australia.
- Eligible Locations) an Australian Government or state government entity (except for schools in very remote areas.
- A Regional Program Administrator or a Regional Program Administrator employee directly
- Involved in the delivery of the Regional Arts Fund.
- An individual or organization who has already received a Regional Arts Fund Quick Response Grant in the same financial year.
