The Region of Peel is pleased to announce the Core Fund to support agencies to improve their program and service delivery by funding their core operational needs.
The Core Fund provides funding to the not-for-profit sector in Peel to strengthen core infrastructure, advance their work, and deliver on their mission.
Priority Areas
The purpose of the Community Investment Program Core funding is to improve the ability of organizations to serve Peel’s most vulnerable residents in times of need. In the Service Provider Profile, you’ll need to indicate which sector, population, and Regional priority area your organization’s programs and services most closely align with.

Funding Information
- The Community Investment Program core funding provides Peel not-for-profits up to 30% of their annual expenses to a maximum of $100,000.
- The maximum total eligible funding amount is determined by reviewing the applicant’s 2 years of audited financial statements to calculate average annual expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
The agency must:
- Be located in Peel and/or primarily serve Peel residents.
- Be mandated to provide human and community services.
- Be incorporated as a not-for-profit organization for a minimum of 2 years. The organization must be registered as a charity under the Canada Income Tax Act.
- Provide 2 years of annual financial statements. If your organizational revenue is between $150,000 and $250,000, you may submit a Review Engagement. If your organizational revenue is less than $150,000, you may submit a Notice to Reader.
- Provide proof of insurance coverage, including but not limited to commercial general liability insurance.
- Be governed by a volunteer board of directors that represents the community it serves.
- Comply with the Ontario Human Rights Code in hiring practices and provision of services.
- Comply with federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.
