The Auckland Council is currently seeking applications for the Regional Sport and Recreation Programme Grant to provide operational funding for a range of regional programmes that encourage Aucklanders to be more active, more often.
Funding Priorities
The Council welcomes grant applications that align to the following priorities:
- Provide programmes for children and young people that will help them have lifelong participation in sport and recreation.
- Provide easier and more affordable access to groups with low participation rates in sport and recreation, including:
- Maori
- children and young people
- groups with specific health and well-being needs
- those facing other barriers.
Funding Information
The Programme Grant is run once a yar and allocates up to $508,000 annually.
Eligibility Criteria
Your organisation is eligible to apply for this grant if it is:
- a recreation and sport ‘umbrella organisation’ with a region-wide mandate
- a regional federation, or grouping of local or sub-regional sports code organisations
- a sport and recreation provider or advocacy group
- an iwi or Maori organisation active in the sport and recreation sector.
