Deadline: 7-Nov-22
The Hivos People Unlimited is now accepting applications for its Regional SRHR Fund to support young feminist organizations, groups, movements and allies to shift dominant narratives, and to contribute to, and advocate for, the implementation of policies and practices that demonstrably reduce GBV against YWAG.
Hivos seeks to support interventions that address one or more of the aforementioned approaches. Project funds will be provided to selected feminist organizations to demand for their rights, and play a leading role in strengthened and inclusive feminist movements that enjoy increased public support and influence policymakers to adapt and/or implement laws, policies and practices that prevent GBV.
Approaches
The key approaches of the program are:
- Approach 1: Shifting narratives and public opinions/attitudes towards YWAG: addressing cultural and religious norms, practices which influence public attitudes towards YWAG. They will support interventions that include social campaigns that utilize creative arts, digital spaces and mass/social media platforms to increase the support for GBV prevention.
- Approach 2: Capacity strengthening and movement building of YWAG and feminist movements – includes interventions that improve youth-led knowledge sharing, networking and data collection on GBV in the region as well as increased capacity for youth-driven research. This includes feminist analyses and action-research.
