The Nevada County Board of Supervisors, through the AFSC, anticipates the authorization of funding to facilitate projects and/or programs that address the key findings and recommendations identified in the 2021-2022 Community Action Plan through the issuance of Community Initiative Funds (CIF).
The purpose of this RFP is to solicit from qualified non-profit applicants, proposals designed to promote the statewide priority of Family Self-Sufficiency identified in the 2021-22 Community Action Plan by mitigating root causes of poverty and ameliorating conditions of extreme poverty, for low-income Nevada County households.
Funding Information
- It is estimated that the Community Initiative Funding (CIF) available under this RFP will total $30,000.
- Funds will be allocated on a one-time only basis to two separate projects at an amount not to exceed $15,000 each; the term of award is July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022.
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified non-profit applicants are eligible to apply.
- Attach 501 (C) (3) status verification and/or related documentation (current IRS tax-exempt status classification letter).
- All programs receiving funds under the CIF award are expected to adhere to the following requirements:
- Obtain and retain statistical data from each household enrolled, including demographic data on family members, household characteristics, and income, to determine eligibility
- Require and retain verification of household income from each household enrolled, such as CalWORKs or SSI award letters, or pay stubs
- Share the CSBG grievance policy with all participants
- Submit quarterly reports to the County (data requirements will be reflective of CSBG reporting requirements)
- Maintain case files on all case managed participants
- Submit to program and financial audits each calendar year
- Present the agency’s CIF program, and its progress serving the community, to the AFSC at least once each Fiscal year
