The Dairy’s Foundation awards grants to projects that will build producer professionalism and maintain public trust through programs that educate and engage both the dairy community and the public.
Focus Areas
- They focus their support in three key areas:
- Raising up the next generation of professional dairy producers
- Growing and maintaining public trust in their people and products
- Building the skills of their dairy producers
Target Areas
- At the present time, new programs or education initiatives they intend to support fall into these main areas:
- Building Producer Professionalism – Engaging and equipping their people in lifelong learning, including producer leadership skills and their next generation of professional dairy producers.
- Maintaining Public Trust – Unified outreach programs that educate and engage both the dairy community and the public, helping facilitate trust.
Funding Information
- Organizations may apply for a grant of up to $10,000.
- The maximum amount for each grant will be $10,000.
- The maximum amount given to any one organization will be $10,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Applying organizations must be non-profit, with an IRS status of 501(c)(3) or (c)(5).
- At the present time, the Foundation only funds programs within the United States.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Requests from individuals or scholarships for individuals
- Political or social organizations
- Endowments
- Artistic or religious programs
- Loans, start-up expenses or seed capital funding for private businesses
- Building projects
- Dairy promotion or nutrition programs that are directly the responsibility of our state and national check-off organizations. They are pleased to work collaboratively with their check-off organizations, but not in competition.
