The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka) and The National Association for Sexual Education (RFSU) are seeking organisations and individuals who would be interested in spearheading a project addressing issues related to disability and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
The project is funded by The National Association for Sexual Education (RFSU).
The project aims to make a significant impact on all disabled individuals (such as speech impaired, visually impaired, hearing impaired, mobility impaired, intellectually disabled, and psychiatrically disabled) and their Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
Previous experience in the field of disability, gender, women and girls’ empowerment, empowerment of people living with disabilities and SRHR would be beneficial.
Funding Information
- The total budget should not exceed LKR 2,000,000.
- The duration is from May 2024 to December 2024, and it aims to support innovative projects led by dedicated organisations and individuals.
Expected Outcomes
- Enhanced sensitivity among the general public regarding sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of people with disabilities leading to the cultivation of an inclusive and supportive environment for their sexual and reproductive well-being.
- Examples:
- Raising awareness about the rights of people with disabilities regarding Sexual and Reproductive Health and advocating for inclusive policies.
- Conducting research to understand the unique challenges and needs of individuals with disabilities in the context of Sexual and Reproductive Health.
- Examples:
- Improved access to SRH services for disabled communities in Sri Lanka, demonstrating improved access and inclusivity.
- Examples:
- Ensuring that Sexual and Reproductive Health services and information are accessible to people with disabilities.
- Making healthcare facilities and services inclusive and accommodating for individuals with disabilities.
- Providing training for healthcare professionals and service providers to enhance their ability to address the specific needs of people with disabilities.

- Empower the disabled community in Sri Lanka, enabling them to make informed decisions about their Sexual and Reproductive Health choices and well-being
- Examples:
- Promoting inclusive sexual education that caters to individuals with diverse abilities.
- Exploring and implementing technological solutions to improve accessibility, such as accessible information formats or telehealth options.
- Advocating for and ensuring that the legal framework supports the sexual and reproductive rights of people with disabilities.
- Involving the disabled community in decision-making processes and seeking their input to tailor services to their needs.

Eligibility Criteria
- Organisations must be registered in Sri Lanka and are required to submit the following documents along with the proposal:
- Company registration
- Audits of last two financial years (2021 and 2022) with management letters
- Draft accounts for 2023
