The Women’s Fund in Georgia has announced the grant program “Protection of Women’s Rights and Women’s Rights Activists “, whose financial support is the British foundation Sigrid Rausing Trust.
The grant contest is aimed at strengthening feminist and women’s organizations that work to protect women’s rights and challenge systemic change in the regions of Georgia.
Thematic Areas
- The thematic areas of the program are:
- mobilization of women against social injustice in regional towns and villages through advocacy and lobbying;
- detection and prevention of invisible/hidden forms of violence against women;
- Increasing women’s participation in the decision-making process in local self-governments (on social, environmental, educational, or other issues);
- Creating a safe and caring space for feminist activists and women’s human rights groups, events aimed at women’s emotional and mental well-being.
Funding Information
- The grant amount is set at 7,000 pounds sterling.
- The duration of projects is 6 months.
Eligible Projects
- Within the framework of the competition, the Women’s Fund will support the following projects:
- which are implemented by women
- whose direct and ultimate beneficiaries are women
Eligibility Criteria
- The following can participate in the ” Protection of Women’s Rights and Women’s Rights Activists ” grant competition:
- Local registered women’s non-governmental organizations in the regions of Georgia;
- Organizations in the regions that work on women’s issues and are led by women;
- Women’s organizations in regions whose budget does not exceed $500,000.
- The Women’s Fund will give priority to coalition initiatives of organizations operating in the region.
