The Auckland Council is pleased to announce the Rodney Local Board Healthy Harbours Waterway Fund to help landowners and community groups fence and plant waterways and wetlands.
- Te Arai
- Cape Rodney
- Tawharanui
- Matakana (upper and lower).
- the waterways in the Rodney area are protected and restored
- the water quality in Rodney's three harbours is improved
- financial support and professional advice for improving the health of the waterways is available.
- Funding is available towards the protection, enhancement or restoration of streams, waterways, wetlands, riparian and coastal margins.
- Funding is primarily made available for fencing of waterways, restoration planting and plant maintenance within fenced-off areas. It is also available for alternative water supply for livestock, needed as a result of fencing.
- To join the growing movement to help protect and restore our waterways in the Rodneyarea
- To get financial support and professional advice for improving the health of yourwaterways
- To support the Rodney Local Board’s long-term vision of improved water quality in Rodney’s three harbours
- Applications are welcome for projects that protect and restore waterways in the Rodney Local Board area.
- The fund is available to all landowners, including farmers and lifestyle block owners, mana whenua, iwi groups, community groups, environmental groups and their partners.
- Projects can take place on private and/or Maori land.
