The Auckland Council is seeking applications for its Manurewa Local Grant Programme.
Priorities
- They welcome grant applications that align to the following priorities:
- Strengthening neighbourhood cohesion.
- Support for youth development.
- Showcasing and celebrating Māori culture, stories and identity.
- Increasing the celebration of cultural diversity.
- Support and promotation of Māori success, innovation and enterprise.
- Strengthening whānau and tamariki well-being.
- The local board endorses the Healthy Environment principles.
- Higher priority for eligibility
- Applicants with the following messages and practices are encouraged to apply:
- Smoke free.
- Zero waste.
- Healthy options for food and drink, including water as the first choice.
- Active lifestyles.
- Applicants with the following messages and practices are encouraged to apply:
- Lower priority for eligibility
- They have also identified the following activities as lower priority:
- Costs towards vehicles, electronic equipment and catering.
- Fundraising events.
- Purchase of gear and equipment with limited future use.
- Community groups with little demonstrated financial need or with funding available from other sources.

Types of projects funded by the grant
Eligibility Criteria
- Community groups, social enterprises and business associations who intend to deliver activities in the Otara-Papatoetoe local town centres.
Ineligible
The Manurewa Local Board will not fund:
- Applicants who have failed to complete or provide a satisfactory accountability form from previous grants received
- Applicants with no quotes provided
- Applications requesting funding for projects or events which have already taken place
