The Rural Health Innovation Fund (RHIF) is an initiative of Country SA PHN (CSAPHN) which supports innovative community-led initiatives that enhance country South Australians’ health and wellbeing.
Objectives
- Country SA PHN Strategic Plan objectives:
- Increase health equity amongst the communities
- Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of primary health care services
- Work with communities to enable access to the right care in the right place at the right time
- In responding to these objectives RHIF’s goals are:
- Recognising the diverse health and wellbeing needs of country South Australians.
- Striving to create change through community-led solutions that have long-term viability.
- Driving greater connection with a broad range of community organisations, stakeholders, and industries.
- Using creativity to generate new and innovative ideas that translate to health and wellbeing improvements.
- Exploring impactful philanthropy and partnership opportunities through a collaborative, strategic, and targeted exchange, for mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Enabling activities and initiatives that are effective, efficient, sustainable, and in strong support of equitable access.
What is the RHIF Grant?
- The Rural Health Innovation Fund grants aim to:
- Provide one-off funding for community-led initiatives targeted at innovative and solution focused activities that support and enhance quality health and wellbeing outcomes for people living in country South Australia.
- Enable grant recipients to drive innovation designed toward positive health and wellbeing improvements (outcomes and experience), for people living in county SA regions.
- Support initiatives that are effective, efficient, sustainable, and support equitable access in rural and remote communities of SA.
Funding Information
- Applicants are encouraged to apply for smaller to medium-sized funding amounts between $2,000.00 and $250,000.00 for their initiative
Duration
- Funds must be expended by 30 June 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grant applications will be accepted from:
- Non-Government organisations
- Not for profit organisations
- Community Groups with DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status
- Individuals may seek to identify sponsorship through partnering with an aligned and compliant NGO, or NFP, that meets all RHIF Grant Application criteria to Auspice/oversee the administrative aspect of the grant-funded amount and is relevant to the project or initiative.
- Proposed initiatives must be delivered within the geographical boundaries aligned with the Country SA PHN regions:
- Barossa Hills Fleurieu
- Eyre and Far North
- Flinders and Upper North
- Limestone Coast
- Riverland Mallee Coorong
- Yorke and Northern
- Applicants from non-South Australian-based agencies will need to demonstrate evidence of their footprint and relationships in regional South Australia.
- To be eligible applicants must:
- Be a not-for-profit organisation or registered as a charity on the Australian Charities National Register.
- Have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN) or be Auspiced and administered by such a group that holds this requirement.
- Provide relevant Certificates of Currency with the application.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Grant applications will not be accepted from:
- For-profit organisations, singular research foundations or trusts, professional associations, Statutory Authorities; or
- Commonwealth, State, or Local Government Agencies
- Public and private independent educational institutions, for example, primary, secondary, or tertiary institutions, unless they are school Parents and Friends/Citizen Associations who are deemed eligible and meet all compliance requirements of the RHIF; or
- Organisations that do not align with, support, and abide by relevant State and Federal legislation
