Deadline: 23-Nov-20
The Somerville Arts Council (SAC) is launching the COVID Relief Grant for Individual Artists which will provide financial assistance to Somerville individual artists (of all genres) facing dire economic circumstances brought on by the COVID crisis.
These funds are intended to help local artists who add value to Somerville’s economy and the creative life of the community.
SAC asks that artists who have not been significantly impacted—i.e., have full-time jobs, support from a partner, etc.—do not apply for this grant. Examples of artists who should apply include:
- A musician who has lost income due to cancellation of paid gigs.
- An artist without a full-time job struggling to pay for rent and essential services.
- A theatre designer who has lost their job and whose unemployment has run out
Funding Information
SAC anticipates providing one-time Covid Relief grants of between $2,000 and $4,000, depending upon need and number of applicants. They will release approximately $200,000 through this new grant category.
Eligibility Criteria
Artists must reside in Somerville.
