Deadline: 18-Jun-21
Sea-Changers has launched the new Innovation Fund with MRT in order to support innovative marine conservation approaches and solutions.
Sea-Changers Innovation Fund supports innovation in:
- Research
- Direct Action
- Species Protection
- Education/ Community Engagement
Objectives
Their main grant fund projects achieve one or more of the following objectives:
- To address the root causes of marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK.
- To prevent or reduce negative impacts on UK coastal and marine environments and/or species.
- To add to the body of knowledge about marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK and ways to overcome them.
Funding Information
- In 2021, the Innovation Fund will take the form of a single award of £2,000. It is hoped that the fund can be expanded in future years. Sea-Changers will be seeking additional sponsors and donors to enable this.
What type of projects do they fund?
- Sea-Changers is particularly interested in grassroots projects which galvanise community action and in projects which increase the number of people taking action for marine conservation.
- Data and results from research projects undertaken as a result of Sea-Changers’ grant funding must be made available to Sea-Changers and shared with appropriate marine databases when completed.
- They will consider partial funding of projects where other funds are also being sought or are already in place, but you will need to demonstrate exactly which elements of the project Sea-Changers’ grant will be used to fund and how the funding fits into the wider finances of the project.

Sea-Changers welcomes applications from a wide range of UK based organisations including:
