Deadline: 28-Jun-2020
Search for Common Ground – Afghanistan (Search Afghanistan) is inviting local CSOs including media outlets to submit their applications for the small grants.
Through these grants, they aim to support some locally-led approaches and programs recommended by local communities in all the aforementioned six target areas.
Areas
- Supporting Afghan Peace Process: In most of the target areas, participants of the creation workshops recommended programs that would support the ongoing peace process by making it more inclusive where voices of their communities, especially of youth, women and marginalized groups, are heard, reflected and considered for decision making.
- Supporting Local Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution Mechanisms: Overall, local communities evaluated informal justic and conflict resolution mechanisms such as Shuras, Jirgas, etc. very positively; however, they too expressed their concerns saying that in some cases decisions made through these mechanisms violate human rights, in particular children and women’s rights. Therefore, they recommended programs that could capacitate members of these mechanism on children and women’s rights so that it could ultimately increase justice for them (women and children).
- Promoting Women’s Participation in Local Peacebuilding and Social Activities: Local community members believed that women’s participation in peacebuilding and social activities were very low. Thus, they suggested programs that can increase women’s participation in peacebuilding and other social activities.
