The First Peoples’ Cultural Council (FPCC) is offering Sharing Traditional Arts Across Generations to support projects that pass on traditional arts skills and knowledge.
This program assists with knowledge transfer across generations, increases training opportunities and advances the work of Indigenous artists practicing traditional art forms. This program supports all traditional art forms – weaving, carving, beading, dancing, storytelling, regalia, drumming and more.
Sharing Traditional Arts Across Generations is meant to:
- Advance the work of Indigenous artists practicing traditional art forms.
- Increase training and participation of artists.
- Enhance traditional arts activities in all disciplines.
- Support the transfer of artistic knowledge and skills between generations.
- Enhance the network of artists practicing traditional art forms in all disciplines
Funding Information
- Grant amount: up to $50,000
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for the IAP the applicant must:
- Have previous experience or a creative mandate that demonstrates a commitment to their practice.
- Demonstrate the support of recognized Indigenous artists, creatives, cultural, or community leaders.
- Submit only one application per deadline.
- Submit a Final Report for any previous IAP grants (if applicable). You will not be eligible to apply until all active IAP grants are closed.
- Not have the same project funded through the BCAC programs.
