The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is calling for proposals from Civil Society organizations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Community Based organizations (CBOs) to apply for Small Grant to implement Rule of Law, and Human Rights strengthening Activities in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.
Objectives
The key objective of the RFP is to identify an Implementing Partner (IP) – whether civil society organizations, (CSOs), National Non-Governmental Organizations (NNGOs), and Community Based organizations (CBOs) with operational presence in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state to do implement activities that enhance the rule of law in the state by:
- Strengthening the justice chain institutions to deliver accountable, effective, equitable, and gender-responsive services through:
- Enhancing equal access to effective and fair justice services for vulnerable people particularly women, girls, and SGBV survivors.
- Supporting the implementation of community-oriented policing in all the six counties of Northern Bahr el Ghazal.
- Identify existing gaps in the access to justice and security for the most vulnerable communities and make remedial recommendations to the concerned authorities.
Funding Information
- The budget should be detailed, complete, rational, and realistic, and must not exceed the equivalent of USD 36,000
- Administrative costs must not exceed 10% of the total proposed amount.
- The Project duration is six months.
Deliverables
- Six results-oriented rule of law forums convened in Northern bahr el Ghazal.
- 80 Justice actors (51 female) trained on human rights, gender-based violence, investigation, and prosecution.
- 80 police and prisons staff (51% women) trained on gender.
- 20 data entry clerks from police, prisons, Legal administration, and judiciary trained in statistics compilation and records management.
- 250,000 people 51% women sensitized on legal rights, Gender Based violence and available redress mechanisms.
- 80 traditional leaders 51% women trained on human rights, gender equality and jurisdiction of customary courts.
- 8 PCRCs established in crime spots across the six counties.
- 24 action-oriented PCRC meetings convened, and eight security plans developed and documented.
- 1,000,000 people (51% women reached with messages in crime prevention and lawfulness using the media and community outreaches.
Eligibility Criteria
The CSO/NNGO/CBO must meet the following criteria to be eligible for selection:
- Be legally registered as CSO/NNGO/CBO with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and in possession of a valid registration certificate.
- Mandate and founding document should be in line with the activities for which the fund is being sought.
- Have an established office in Northern Bahr el Ghazal.
- Youth led/women led CSO and must be currently implementing Rule of Law and Human Rights Strengthening Activities in Northern Bahr el Ghazal.
