The Solihull MBC in partnership with the Heart of England Community Foundation is seeking applications for its Celebrating Communities Fund to help enable communities to thrive, take action to improve disadvantaged communities and revitalise the borough’s towns and local centres.
Priorities
- Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has partnered with the Heart of England Community Foundation to help achieve four of its priorities:
- Enable communities to thrive – by supporting grassroots led and informed community activity
- Taking action to improve the life chances in their most disadvantaged communities – by focusing and directing community activity towards those people who can most benefit from it
- Revitalising their towns and local centres – by promoting a vibrant arts and cultural offer to residents and visitors to the borough
- Introduces new participants to sport and /or, physical activity
Themes
Projects will need to fit within one of the following four themes:
- Community events.
- Community based arts and cultural activity.
- Community activity that supports the Commonwealth Games.
- Community projects around sport and physical activity.
Funding Information
- Celebrating Communities through community events – They expect that most grants they make will be up to £2,000, but grants of up to £5,000 are available for exceptional and/or larger events.
- Celebrating Communities through art, culture and heritage – Grants of up to £5,000 are available.
- Celebrating Communities through the Commonwealth Games – Grants of up to £5,000 are available, particularly when combined with a community event.
- Celebrating Communities through sport and physical activity – The expectation is that smaller projects are encouraged to apply for grants between £1,000-£2,000. With only larger projects applying for grants of up to £5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- You can apply to this fund if you are one of the following:
- Registered charities
- Constituted Community groups
- Companies Limited by Guarantee with charitable aims
- Community Interest Companies
- Co-operatives – registered Community Benefit Societies andregistered Industrial and Provident Societies
- Social Enterprise
- Religious organisations that provide wider community benefit
- Mutual aid groups
- Additionally, your organisation/company income level must be equal to or less than £500,000, as shown in your most recent annual accounts
