The South Coast & South East NSW Bushfire Recovery Grants Program will seek applications from established Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) organisations for funding of projects and programs from bushfire affected communities in the LGA’s of Snowy Monaro Regional Council, Eurobodalla Council, Shoalhaven City Council, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, Bega Valley Shire Council and Snowy Valleys Council.
This program will focus on the long term, community led recovery of communities that were impacted by the Black Summer Bushfires in 2019/2020.
The Community Enterprise Foundation, on behalf of Sandhurst Trustees Limited, established the National Bushfire Disaster Appeal and individual state appeals in response to the devastating bushfires which impacted communities across Australia in 2019/2020.
Funding Information
- Applications can be made for grants up to $50,000. Distribution is subject to the needs of fire affected communities.
Activities

Funding will support and need to demonstrate the resilience, rebuilding, strengthening and preparedness of the social fabric within impacted communities, with priority given to community-led activities that promote:
- Connected and empowered communities
- Climate & disaster resilience
- Financial & digital inclusion

Initiatives for support include: –
- The long-term bushfire recovery and resilience for individuals and communities.
- Improved community connectedness and cohesion to support bushfire recovery
- Enhancing the financial literacy and digital connectedness of bushfire affected individuals and communities
- Building community capability and capacity for recovery
- Community initiatives that assist the economic restoration of communities
- Initiatives that assist communities to be prepared for future disasters Conservation and re-estabishment of natural environment.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be an established Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) organisation.
- Projects that the grant program supports should be completed by the end of 2023
- The grant will only support projects that benefit bushfire impacted communities in the LGA’s of Snowy Monaro Regional Council, Eurobodalla Council, Shoalhaven City Council, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, Bega Valley Shire Council and Snowy Valleys Council.
- All applicants will be required to demonstrate their operational and financial stability by providing a copy of their most recent profit and loss statement
- A full budget and quote/s to support the amount requested are to be provided as part of the application.
- Funding to be directed to community led recovery initiatives that support bushfire impacted communities across one or all of the three themes of connected and empowered communities, climate and disaster resilience and financial and digital inclusion.
- Funding sources/capacity to leverage resources from elsewhere is beneficial
- Program focus is on assisting bushfire impacted communities to continue their long-term recovery following the Black Summer Bushfires.
