The Southern Ports Community Investment Program provides support for more than 100 activities and events each year that benefit the communities residing in the Great Southern, South West and Goldfields-Esperance regions.
Categories
- In considering applications, Southern Ports will give preferences to activities that fall within at least one of the following categories:
- Maritime – projects that have a focus on the marine environment, being a marine based activity, infrastructure or educational program;
- Sustainable environment – projects which demonstrate sustainable solutions to the protection, management and enhancement of the environment;
- Education – education-based projects and initiatives for youth and mature aged students;
- Community infrastructure – projects which provide long-term benefits to the local community with the development of infrastructure and improvement of resources;
- Community events – community events, sporting programs and art projects that encourage community involvement; and
- Indigenous relations – projects and events that respect the Traditional Owners of the land, value cultural heritage and increase community focus within the indigenous community.
Funding Information
- Applications for funding of $5,000 or less are preferred.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications will be considered from the following organisations who hold an ABN (or are auspiced by an organisation that does):
- Not-for-profit organisations
- Incorporated community organisations
- Not-for-profit educational institutions (e.g. universities, schools and colleges)
- Local government authorities
Ineligibility Criteria
- Applications will not be considered from:
- Applicants whose projects, programs, events or activities conflict, or are perceived to be in conflict, with Southern Ports organisational values.
- Commercial businesses.
- Individuals / Sole Traders.
- Applicants who enter into competition with other related clubs, organisations or groups in the same region, such as is often the case with sporting clubs. However, Southern Ports is able to consider applications from the overarching Association.
- Support will not be given for:
- Political activities.
- Religious activities.
- Advertising costs including production, printing and media costs.
