The Sacred Sports Foundation Inc (SSF) has launched the Small Grants for Local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
Objectives
- The overall objective of the financial support to third parties is to provide financial and technical support to local CSOs (and initiative groups) with preferences to community-based organisations/groups and grassroot organisations working in the fields of children with disabilities, girls, youth, gender-violence and violence prevention in St. Lucia.
- The specific objectives are:
- to promote the participation and engagement of local CSOs and initiative groups active in St. Lucia in dealing with issues prioritized by the call.
- to enhance capacities of local CSOs, especially CBOs and grass-root organisations, working in the field by training, mentorship and learning by doing approaches.

Outputs
- Outputs include
- The largest possible number of local CSOs and initiative groups from St. Lucia are informed about the project opportunity, are interested in it and participate in the programme.
- Minimum four CSOs with a maximum EC$ 22,000 Sub-Grant to local CSOs/ initiative groups with best/relevant initiatives are awarded sub-grants and implement them.
- Those funded CSOs receive high-quality training on project management as well as mentorship during their implementation; and knowledge and skills of the funded CSOs are strengthened thanks to the support offered by the Action.
Eligible Activities
- Organisation of workshops and seminars, peer-learning visits, coaching and mentoring, train-the-trainer activities.
- Design, production and application of tools and methodologies for capacity development (training curriculum, handbooks for teachers and trainers, compendia of good practice, virtual libraries, guidelines etc.) and information materials.
- Production of innovative services or goods which contribute to address needs of their beneficiaries and problems in the targeted areas.
Eligibility Criteria
- CSOs / CBO’s etc will only be awarded grants if:
- the applicant is based and located in St. Lucia.
- The applicant is a registered CSO or group with at least 12 months of activity prior to applying.
- the applicant is not being investigated for fraud, corruption, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or other wrongdoing.
- the applicant has not had funding from the European Union in the last 12 months
- the applicant is not a government entity, an organisation with an annual income in excess of EC$100,000 or an established CSO etc with the capacity to be engaged as a Partner directly by the EU.
- Other considerations include:
- Organisations must propose activities solely related to strengthening internal organisational and capacity.
- The proposal can include a range of fully funded activities:
- training, policy development, programme design, procurement of equipment and materials, staff development, technical support, communications support etc, to scale up the organisation’s ability to respond to working in the fields of children with disabilities, girls, youth, gender-violence and domestic violence prevention in St. Lucia.
- Should be limited to a maximum EC$22,000 per CSO.
