The Government of South Australia is offering 2021-22 Connect Together Grants to provide one-off funding to eligible multicultural organisations to develop projects that deliver better services and build capacity for COVID-19 response and recovery in the community.
Grants are available for initiatives that encourage and support diverse communities to keep safe, stay connected, and develop culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) appropriate processes and procedures during COVID-19 and the recovery period that will follow.
The Connect Together Grants are administered by Multicultural Affairs within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC).
Funding Information
- Grants of up to $10,000 are available for projects to be delivered over 12 months.
Outcomes
The Connect Together Grants invests in multicultural organisations to develop projects, which build capacity for COVID-19 response and recovery in the community, and achieve one or more of the following outcomes:
- Connect CALD communities to one another
- Connect CALD communities to partner with non-government organisations (NGOs) and service providers
- Connect CALD residents to more opportunities including education, training, up skilling, jobs, services, etc
- Connect CALD communities to find sustainable partnerships with the wider South Australian community; industry, business and government sectors.
What can be funded?
Funding can be used for eligible expenses that directly relate to the coordination, management and delivery of the project within South Australia.
Examples of eligible projects are:
- temporary project staff salaries or consultant costs to assist in the delivery of training or workshops
- organisational procedures to assist community to navigate and access COVID19 information and government assistance
- translating Government related resources and community messages
- workshops for training and skills development (e.g. employment seeking and interview skills)
- develop a resource, book, website or app to make services more accessible to the community
- digital equipment and software
- community database development
- using digital platform/s to stay connected with communities
- pastoral care procedures to assess and provide emotional and social support to communities
- essential personal care packages, including personal protective equipment (PPE), to be distributed to those in need
- professional mediation services for members.
- be non-government, not-for-profit and
- incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1985, or
- an Australian Public Company Limited by Guarantee under the Corporations Act 2001, or
- a Statutory Authority established through an Act, or
- registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission with a comparable legal status
- have a registered Australian Business Number (ABN)
- provide satisfactory evidence that their core purpose is to deliver initiatives, services or support for CALD communities in South Australia
- be South Australian based.
