The Central Bedfordshire Council is thrilled to invite grant applications to invest in domestic priorities by supporting high-quality skills, training, pay and investing in employment opportunities, innovation and productivity.
Funding Information
- The Community Grant Fund available is for £150,000.
- An organisation can apply for a capital grant, for one project, between £3,000 and £25,000.
Eligible Projects
- This is an opportunity to make a lasting difference in your community. This capital grant could help to deliver projects that:
- Create or enhance community and neighbourhoods, such as buildings, facilities, or green spaces, and increase resilience to natural hazards, such as flooding.
- Support local community-based groups and organisations to develop their capacity and infrastructure, such as equipment, sports equipment and engagement, or improvements to facilities.
- Establish or improve local green spaces, such as parks, gardens, or woodlands, and promote their environmental, community and social benefits.
- Invest in capital assets that support local arts, cultural and creative activities, such as venues, equipment, or materials.

- Break down barriers to opportunity
- Build and NHS fit for the future
- They therefore welcome applications for projects to be delivered in the Central Bedfordshire area that can demonstrate one or more of the following outcomes:
- An increase in the users of facilities/amenities
- Levelling up through the promotion of equality in respect of nine protected characteristics; age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
- Greater wellbeing, pride, confidence, and connectivity with their community.
Eligibility Criteria
- A wide range of not-for-profit local groups, voluntary and community organisations can apply with a Central Bedfordshire focus and connection. This will include:
- Registered charities
- Voluntary, community groups & not for profit organisations with a constitution
- Parish or Town Councils
- Schools/Parent Associations (in relation to their wider community role)
- Community Interest Companies/ Community Benefit Societies
- Faith organisations (in relation to their wider community role)
- Social Enterprises
Ineligibility Criteria
- Funding is not available to individuals for personal benefit or for the delivery of any statutory functions, or organisations with no local connection.
- The funding is capital funding and cannot fund revenue costs such as venue hire, professional training, political activities, and registered formal personal care.
- Projects that are already complete and retrospective applications for funding are not eligible.
