The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and Sunshine Coast Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
RADF funds are aimed at the development of emerging and established artists, creative practitioners and producers. RADF funding is awarded to projects that align with the Sunshine Coast Arts Plan 2018 – 2038, which provides a 20 year vision for the region, placing artists at its core: ‘The soul of their community is their flourishing arts ecology: nurturing connections, promoting experimentation and inspiring collaboration’.
Goals
- Local artists and artistic content is developed and celebrated
- Arts audiences and creative opportunities flourish through investment and development
- Dedicated network of places and spaces for artists to connect, create and collaborate [physical and virtual]
- Art and creativity is embedded in the identity and experience of the Sunshine Coast.
Funding Categories
The Sunshine Coast RADF program provides funding in five categories:
- Concept Development Funding: Up to $5,000
- Project Funding: Up to $10,000
- Seed Funding: Up to $10,000 in the first year, $5000 in the second year, $2500 in the third year
- Individual Development Funding:
- Up to $750 for national travel
- Up to $1500 for international travel
- Mentorship Funding: Up to $5000
Eligibility Criteria
- Individual emerging and established artists, producers and creative practitioners
- Businesses
- Registered not-for-profit organisations
- Groups and collectives.
- Applicants must:
- reside or be based in the Sunshine Coast Local Government Area or, if based outside the local government area, demonstrate how the project will directly benefit residents in the Sunshine Coast
- be Australian citizens or permanent residents
- hold appropriate insurance
- have met all acquittal conditions of previous council grants.
Ineligible
Applications cannot be made by:
- government agencies or departments of state or federal government
- educational, religious or medical organisations, where the application is for the organisation’s core business
- individuals where the application is for content directly related to educational coursework, study or research.
