Deadline: 30-Apr-23
The Rays of Sunshine has launched the Sunshine in Hospitals Grant Program to support UK hospital, hospice, or other healthcare setting and to fund a project which provides support to seriously ill young people aged three to 18 years.
This grant is intended to fully fund the proposed project or one distinct element of it; Rays of Sunshine will not make a general contribution towards project costs.
Key Focus Areas
- The Grant aims to support innovative new projects which have a real and long-lasting impact on young patients and their families. To be eligible, projects must seek to contribute towards the achievement of one or more of Rays of Sunshine’s key aims:
- Reduce anxiety surrounding the hospital/hospice environment.
- Reduce sense of loneliness and isolation.
- Improve mental wellbeing of both seriously ill children and their families.
- Enhancing the hospital or hospice experience for seriously ill children and their families
- In addition, they recognise that the unique needs and challenges faced by seriously ill teenagers undergoing treatment are often not fully considered, meaning there are generally fewer age-appropriate resources available to them during their hospital stays. As such, the Selection Committee particularly welcomes applications for projects which seek to benefit young people aged 13 to 18.
Funding Information
- A single grant of up to £20,000 is available to cover project costs only. The funding is intended to cover activity for up to 12 months, but they are looking for projects which can demonstrate sustainability beyond this period to make a real and lasting difference to young patients.
Who they support?
