The International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) has initiated a new project on the promotion of sustainable tourism called “Destination Eco-Talents (DET) to contribute to the resilience and empowerment of beneficiary populations, in particular young people, women and rural communities, through the promotion of sustainable and inclusive tourism ecosystems that preserve natural and cultural heritage.

- The goal is to promote significant and sustainable economic and social benefits for local communities while preserving natural and cultural resources. This involves:
- Development of innovative tourism projects based on sustainability principles and practices: Creation and development of responsible tourism tours, products and experiences that protect and enhance natural, cultural and heritage sites in target countries in Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and Cabo Verde. These may include thematic eco-tours (ecotourism, community tourism, rural tourism, nature tourism, cultural tourism, adventure tourism, gastronomic tourism, etc.).
- Support and employability of young people and women: Encouragement of projects led by young people and women, particularly from rural and peri-urban communities, by integrating activities promoting their professional training and adopting an impact-focused approach.
- Sustainable entrepreneurship and economic inclusion: Promoting initiatives in sustainable tourism, the circular blue, creative and/or social and solidarity economy. Support for the creation of microenterprises, SMEs and social enterprises dedicated to young people, women and rural and peri-urban communities.

Eligibility Criteria
- The following are eligible for this call for projects:
- Projects led by young people and women, particularly those from rural and periurban communities, with an impact-focused approach and part of a sustainable tourism approach. Projects may focus on sectors related to sustainable tourism (crafts, agriculture, gastronomy, etc.), the circular, blue, creative and/or social and solidarity economy, etc.;
- Projects of managers of national and natural parks, protected areas and natural and cultural heritage sites, local authorities, economic interest groups carried by local communities;
- Projects of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as those carried out by incubators, supporting business project leaders in the sustainable tourism sector, with legal personality, governed by proven governance systems and administrative and financial management procedures.
