The Sylvan Lake is seeking proposals for the Community Spirit Capital Grant Program.
The Town of Sylvan Lake Community Spirit Capital Grant Program supports requests from community groups in the arts, culture and heritage, community wellness, recreation and leisure, and environmental initiatives.
Criteria
- Maximum of one (1) annual grant allocation per year;
- The maximum amount of funding to be awarded will be capped at 80% from the Community Spirit Capital Grant Program;
- Funds must be used for the approved purpose within the calendar year;
- Funds will be forwarded to the project organizer upon project start-up. Fund payments will be arranged on a project-by-project basis with the possibility of payments being made on a project basis.
- All unused funds must be returned to the Town for re-allocation within the Community Spirit Capital Grant Program.
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations applying for the Community Spirit Capital Grant must meet the following grant criteria:
- Groups should be based in Sylvan Lake. Non-resident groups may be considered for projects that directly benefit Sylvan Lake residents
- Projects must occur within the Town of Sylvan Lake and directly benefit residents and businesses
- The application must be submitted by a community group (registered or without status)
- Applicant must be in good standing with the Town (grant reporting, taxes, utilities, etc.)
- Projects must be able to demonstrate that they meet a community need and directly benefit Sylvan Lake residents
- Projects must be capital based to help build, enhance or repair existing community facilities, or for major equipment purchases or repairs
- Grant applicants must have a focus in the arts, culture and heritage, community wellness, recreation and leisure and environmental initiatives.
Registered non-profit groups, registered charities, and Town of Sylvan Lake based community groups without status, may apply for a wide range of projects, including:
- Facility Grants Funding to help build, enhance or repair existing community facilities;
- Equipment Grants Funding for major equipment purchases or repairs.
