TaRa Trust is excited to announce its AtmaNirbhar Grant, a unique opportunity for NGOs in Pune to receive 6 months of customised capacity building support worth INR 2.5 lakhs and an additional, unrestricted fund of INR 2.5 lakhs.
The grant is an initiative of Tarachand Ramnath Seva Trust (The TaRa Trust) in collaboration with Atma Education, an accelerator that focuses on improving the strength, scale and sustainability of NGOs and TBL Consultancy Services.
Using an in-person, hands-on guidance and management approach, Atma enables NGOs to expand their reach, strengthen systems and processes to improve their impact.
The Atma team has significant facilitation and consulting expertise that is specific to the Indian NGOs and social enterprises. They are passionate about transforming the Indian education landscape to ensure every child enjoys his/her right to quality education. They work towards this goal by empowering grassroot educational initiatives to amplify their impact and consequently changing the future of education and of India.
Funding Information
The 5 selected NGOs will be provided support to the extent of Rs. 5,00,000 each.
- Rs. 2,50,000 In the form of capacity building support from Atma.
- Rs. 2,50,000 In the form of an unrestricted grant (can be used towards building capacity through adopting technology, hiring staff, etc.)
What will the grant provide?
- A 6 month Capacity Building programme, designed to provide customised support as per the needs and requirements of the selected NGOs.
What can you hope to achieve?
- NGOs will be given access to 6 months of dedicated and customized capacity building support by ATMA in 2 formats:
- 3 workshops on common capacity needs of the cohort.
- 3 customised projects per NGO that will be designed along with support in Implementation

- Strengthened operations across 9 organizational development areas.
- Capacity Building efforts led to recovery from the immediate challenges & building of a stronger institution.
- Future Readiness for long-term sustainability & ability to respond to future challenges.
Eligibility Criteria
- NGOs operating in Pune District and Organisations headquartered elsewhere but have significant operations in Pune can applied for this grant.
