The Triangle Community Foundation (TCF) is seeking applications for its Education & Youth Grant Program to concentrate on enabling and empowering youth leaders.
Education and Youth Impact Area works with nonprofits in the Triangle serving youth ages 5-24, with a focus on youth from low-income backgrounds, youth from low-performing schools, youth with disabilities, youth with limited English proficiency, youth of color, and LGBTQIA+ youth.
This year, the Foundation will be focusing their Education & Youth grant on nonprofits serving youth ages 5-24 in the populations to address three key COVID-19 related concerns: Learning loss, resuming pre-COVID programming and sustaining adaptations made during COVID.
Funding Information
- Grants will be for $25,000 over 2 years ($12,500 per year). Funding will be for two year’s duration and will provide general operating support.
- They anticipate making 15 general operating awards of $25,000 each through this grant cycle and it is their intention to continue offering grants to nonprofits serving the population.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofit, 501(c)(3) youth-serving organizations serving one or more Triangle Counties (Wake, Durham, Orange, Chatham); Projects with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor are eligible to apply.
- Organizations that meet all of the following criteria
- have a history of serving youth ages 5-24 (or a subset of that population) in the priority populations
- Allow youth to inform their work (assist with program planning/creation, serving on the Board/committees, serving as interns, etc.) For young children, this could include family members
- Are addressing issues of learning loss, are working on resuming pre-COVID programming, and/or are working to sustain adaptations made during COVID
- Organizations must meet the Foundation’s non-discrimination policy.
- Only one application per organization will be considered.
- Please note, only organizations that can demonstrate a history of doing work serving the populations will be considered for funding. At this time they are not prioritizing organizations that are new to programming related to serving these populations.
