Deadline: 31-Jul-24
The U.S. Embassy Bangui Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) invites academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and individuals to submit project proposals to set up and manage a short-term (or “pop-up”) American Corner at the University of Bangui.
The purpose of the program is to expand opportunities for Central African university students to engage with the United States and its culture, including English language education, promoting entrepreneurship, and learning more about opportunities for studying at U.S. universities.
American Corners are inviting, open-access learning and gathering places around the world that promote interaction among local communities and the United States in support of U.S. foreign policy.
American Corners are a worldwide network of publicly accessible places that enable U.S. Embassies to build and strengthen relationships with host country communities, showcase American culture and values, promote English language learning, encourage study in the United States, and foster goodwill and mutual understanding.
The grantee will host a year-long professional development program for students at the University of Bangui. The grantee will hire appropriate staff to monitor, mentor, and evaluate participant performance and maintain the documentation required to properly manage an American Space per U.S. Embassy and host institution guidance.
