The Bursa Malaysia is accepting Project Proposals from Charitable Organisations.
Grant
- Indicate the amount of funding required with detailed breakdown including details of other potential funders collaborating on the project.
- The project grant available is subjected to the amount of donations arising from the sale of securities which will vary from time to time.
Duration: The duration of the project may vary from six to 12 months with an indication of the milestones and targets to be achieved within the project period.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant establishment must be registered institutions (eg: non-profit or non-governmental organisations, associations, clubs, societies or bodies, foundations) approved to operate under the Income Tax Act 1967, subsection 44(6).
- Organisations must be in operation for a minimum of 5 years with proven track record of delivering positive impact.
- Organisations must not have any previous actions taken against it for breaches of relevant laws, guidelines or rules issued by the relevant authorities
- Supports any one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals through its activities, projects or initiatives whilst being in line with the causes that are permitted to be supported by YBM under its constitution to benefit Malaysians irrespective of race, descendant, or religion which are as follows:
- Education
- Relief of public distress (natural/man-made disasters, diseases/illnesses)
- Relief of helpless and needy individuals
- Preservation and conservation of wildlife and natural environment, protection of animals and climate change.
Project Eligibility
- As part of the evaluation on whether the project supports any one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals and is in line with YBM’s constitution, the secretariat will also consider the following factors to ensure that the projects will be effective in delivering the intended outcomes/targets
- Able to demonstrate accountability and positive impacts on project beneficiaries
- Description: Being accountable and demonstrate positive impacts on beneficiaries where their rights and welfare are considered as the main priority, can contribute to a more effective and sustainable project.
- Able to demonstrate community involvement and buy in, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders (local authorities/public-private partnerships) towards the success of said project.
- Description: Collaboration with multiple stakeholders build support and trusts as well as strengthen ownership amongst them, improving the chance of long-term impact. This ultimately enhances the reputation of all parties involved.
- Having an established financial, monitoring and evaluation process and required human capital to execute the project.
- Description: Clear project objectives, milestones and timelines described in detail demonstrate the COs organized and well-planned execution.
- Able to demonstrate accountability and positive impacts on project beneficiaries
