The Public Affairs Section (PAS) at U.S. Embassy Managua is pleased to announce the opening of the 2021-2022 Annual Program Statement (APS) – PAS Small Grants Program. This program is open only to Nicaraguan and American citizen (s), non-profit, or non-governmental organizations, and institutions of higher education.
Goals
The Public Affairs Section (PAS) Small Grants Program awards grants to US and Nicaraguan citizens and non-profit and non-governmental organizations to support innovative projects focused on empowering Nicaraguans through educational and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Objectives
The Public Affairs Section (PAS) is interested in projects that promote US-Nicaragua relations through proposals that will:
- Improve instruction and academic achievement in English language proficiency and / or science, technology, environment, architecture / art, and math (STEAM)
- Strengthen entrepreneurship and economic development
- Include, empower, and expand access among minorities communities, women, and disadvantaged communities
- Engage alumni of US sponsored exchange programs
- Promote civic education
Funding Information
- The maximum amount considered under the PAS Small Grants Program is US $ 60,000.00 per award.
- It is essential to provide a clear budget with a thorough and reasonable cost breakdown for the project, including specific categories for which the funds would be used.
- All awards are subject to the availability of funds.
Eligibility Criteria
The Public Affairs Section encourages applications from US and Nicaragua only:
- Registered not-for-profit organizations, including civil society / non-governmental organizations with programming experience
- Nicaraguan and US Individuals
- Institutions of Higher Education
