The Norfolk Community Foundation is seeking applications for the Connecting Older People Fund to improve the wellbeing of older people in Norfolk by helping them stay connected with their local community.
The Fund aims to offer grants focused on reducing loneliness in older people (55+) in Norfolk, through projects that may create new connections, or maintain existing ones.
Grants can support the operational costs of existing projects, as well as expanding proven delivery. Grants can also be used for pilot activities or to test out new ideas or partnerships.

Types of activity the Fund can support may include:
- Community transport
- Lunch/ social clubs
- Walking/ exercise groups
- Volunteering
- Projects/ activities to promote learning and skills
- Intergenerational activities
- Carer support
- Digital skills
Decisions will be notified during September 2022.
Eligible Area
Breckland, Broadland, Great Yarmouth, King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, North Norfolk, Norwich, and South Norfolk
Eligibility Criteria
Charity, Faith organisation, Parish/Town Council, Social Enterprise/CIC, and Voluntary/Community Group
NCF General Criteria
- The Foundation make grants to a wide range of constituted voluntary and community organisations based in, or clearly operating in Norfolk. You don’t have to be a registered charity, but your group and the work you want them to fund must be charitable in purpose.
- Your group must have:
- a governing document (a constitution, rules, articles of association etc.),
- a governing body of at least 3 unconnected individuals
- a bank account in the group’s name with at least two unconnected signatories required to authorise payments (by unconnected, they mean not a relation by blood, marriage, in a long-term relationship or people living together at the same address)
- appropriate policies for equalities and safeguarding.
- They will ask you to show that these requirements have been met when you apply, by providing copies of your governance documents and policies
- Newly formed organisations are welcome to apply to most NCF opportunities but please note you should be able to meet the requirements at the time of applying.
