Innovate UK is inviting applications from eligible applicants for the UK-South Korea Collaborative R&D Grant Program.
This competition aims to fund collaborative research and development (CR&D) projects focused on industrial research. Your proposal must include at least one partner from the UK and one partner from South Korea.
The projects they fund are expected to result in a new product, industrial process, or service, be innovative, involve a technological risk, and have high market potential in the participating countries.
Project Focus
Your project must focus on one or more of the following sectors:
- advanced manufacturing and materials
- artificial intelligence
- clean energy; specifically battery technologies, hydrogen mobility technologies, and future vehicles
Funding Information
- UK applicants can apply for a maximum grant of up to £350,000 for each project.
Eligibility Criteria
- Lead organisation
- To lead a project your organization must:
- be the UK registered business of any size
- be or involve at least one grant claiming UK registered micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME)
- collaborate with a South Korea registered business, which must be a separate non-linked entity to the UK project partners

- Project team
- To collaborate with the lead, your organization must be UK registered:
- business of any size
- academic institution
- research and technology organization (RTO)
- Each UK partner organization must be invited into the Innovation Funding Service by the lead to collaborate on a project. Once accepted, partners will be asked to log in or to create an account and enter their project costs into the Innovation Funding Service.
- If collaborating with other UK registered organizations, the lead and at least one other organization must claim funding by entering their costs during the application.
