Bury VCFA is seeking applications for the Standing Together Grant Programme to enable Bury based voluntary, community and social enterprise sector groups to deliver grassroots activities and projects that tackle community safety issues across the borough.
Priority Areas
The Programme welcomes applications which address the priorities of the GM Standing Together Strategy:

keeping people safe
- Protecting and caring for people who live, work, socialise and travel in Bury, for example providing a buddying project for people at risk or providing a safe travel project.
- Protect those who are vulnerable and those who are victims of crime or at risk of being victimised, for example, confidence building workshops or self-defence classes
- Supporting people to feel safe in their communities, for example developing a good neighbour scheme, domestic violence awareness workshops.

Strengthening communities and places
- Helping to build stronger and resourceful communities, including online communities, and protecting the places where people live, work, socialise or travel, for example, awareness raising using video to promote inclusivity and reduce hate crime or activities which bring communities together to promote understanding and acceptance.
- Enabling victims of crime to access the support they need, for example providing signposting or information to local support services.
- Helping people to understand and prevent Hate Crime, for example using creative arts such as drama, films, poetry to understand of hate crime, running awareness sessions to promote inclusivity and encourage people to report hate crime.
- Challenging the ideology of extremism and provide support to victims of radicalisation, for example training, discussion groups and creation of resources.

Reducing harm and offending
- Reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, for example running sessions on the impact of anti-social behaviour targeted at perpetrators, pilot project employment of a domestic violence worker to support victims.
- Reducing offending and re-offending, for example, diversionary activities such as sports, music or workshops.
Funding Information
- Total budget for this programme: £90,000.
- Maximum available to any one organisation is £10,000.
- In exceptional circumstances and for partnership projects with Bury-wide benefit, applications to a maximum of £15,000 will be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for funding, your group or organisation must be based and operating in the borough of Bury. They welcome applications from:
- Constituted voluntary or community groups or groups working towards becoming constituted
- Registered charities
- Other types of constituted not for profit organisations including social enterprises.
