The United Nations Peacebuilding and Peacebuilding Program, with the support of the European Union, the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Government of Japan, announces a competition for small business grants to start, rebuild or expand micro, small and medium enterprises in districts and cities of Zaporozhye region along the coast of the Sea of Azov.
The goal of the program is to restore and strengthen business activity, reduce labor market tensions and ensure the development of sectors of the economy that are critical to the further economic development of the region.
In order to systematically and sustainably develop the priority sectors of the economy of the target regions and create new jobs, grant support will be provided for the implementation of business projects in the following areas:
- LOT 1. To support business projects in the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts controlled by the Government of Ukraine , grant support will be provided for activities in the following sectors:
- Production of ceramics and pottery, utensils, souvenirs, etc .;
- Manufacture of textiles and clothing (flax, knitwear, wool, etc.), leather and imitation leather products, leather goods, footwear, related products (eg, production of buttons, etc.), manufacture and repair of garments;
- Support of the hospitality industry (hotel and restaurant sector, tourism, entertainment and recreation industry, objects of local lore and tourist activity, transport service of tourist objects, cultural and entertainment centers and related business areas). The beauty and health industry will not be supported ;
- Production of food products, including bakery products, semi-finished products, ready meals, cheeses, pastries, smoked products, etc., and processing of agricultural products of own production;
- Production of grain and oilseeds;
- Production of beef and cow’s milk;
- Production of poultry meat and eggs.
- LOT 2. To support business projects in some districts of Zaporizhia region (Berdyansk, Primorsky, Pryazovsky, Orikhiv, Huliaipil, Yakymivsky, Bilmatsky, Melitopol and Tokmaty) and in Mangush, Volnovakha and Nikolsky districts and the city of Mariupol to support Mariupol Donets in the following sectors:
- Manufacture of equipment and engineering services (manufacture of parts and components for industrial equipment and agricultural and automotive machinery, automation, metal-plastic and fiberglass products and structures, household goods and consumer goods, design and commissioning services and other similar activities);
- Manufacture of textiles and clothing (flax, knitwear, wool, etc.), leather and imitation leather products, leather goods, footwear, related products (eg, button making, etc.) and manufacture and repair of garments;
- Support of the hospitality industry (hotel and restaurant sector, tourism, entertainment and recreation industry, objects of local lore and tourist activity, transport service of tourist objects, cultural and entertainment centers and related business areas). The beauty and health industry will not be supported ;
- Production of food products, including bakery products, semi-finished products, ready meals, cheeses, pastries, smoked products, etc., and processing of agricultural products of own production;
- Production of grain and oilseeds;
- Production of beef and cow’s milk;
- Production of vegetables and fruits.
- LOT 3. For the implementation of business projects to create new jobs controlled by the Government of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions and in some districts and cities of Zaporizhia region along the coast of the Sea of Azov (Berdyansk, Primorsky, Priazovsky, Orikhiv, Huliaipil, Yakymivsky and Bilmatsky Tokmatsky).
Funding Information
Maximum amount of one grant:
- Lot for s 1, 2 on the implementation of a single business project is: 210, 000 USD. (but not more than 6,500 euros in hryvnia equivalent at the rate of the NBU on the date of submission of the application form);
- under LOT 3 for the implementation of one business project is:
- up to UAH 250,000. will be able to get people who plan to create during the implementation of the business plan at least 4 new jobs (entrepreneur and at least three employees);
- up to UAH 200,000. will be able to get those who will create at least 3 new jobs (entrepreneur and at least two employees);
- up to UAH 150,000. will be able to get those who will create at least 2 new jobs (entrepreneur and one employee);
- up to UAH 100,000. will be allocated for entrepreneurs who will create 1 new job (actually, the entrepreneur himself, if he / she is not registered as an entrepreneur before submitting an application for the competition).
Entrepreneurs who receive a grant must make their own contribution to the implementation of the business plan (in cash or otherwise, for example, free labor, equipment, premises, etc.) in the amount of not less than 25% of the project cost.
Criteria
The grant competition will support business projects in the following sectors from the following categories of participants:
LOT 1 and LOT 2
- Business projects in the following sectors: – Production of equipment and engineering services; – Manufacture of textiles and clothing; – Support for the hospitality industry; – Manufacture of ceramics and pottery, utensils, souvenirs, etc. will be provided:
- Individual entrepreneurs (hereinafter – FOP) and legal entities (LLC, FG, PE) , which are registered and operate in the relevant target areas for at least one year as of the date of application for the Competition;
- Individual entrepreneurs , registered at least one year or have not registered at the time of application (but at the time of signing the contract must be registered as FOP) and which are adults, and the capacity capable citizens of Ukraine and permanently reside in the respective target areas.
- Business projects in the sectors: – Production of grain and oilseeds; – Production of beef and cow’s milk; – Production of vegetables and fruits; – Poultry and egg production will be provided:
- Individuals (at the time of signing the contract must be registered as sole proprietors ), who are adults, able-bodied and able-bodied citizens of Ukraine and permanently reside in the relevant target areas;
- Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) registered at the time of application in the relevant target areas;
- Farms (FG) registered at the time of application in the relevant target areas; and
- Private enterprises (PE) registered at the time of application in the relevant target areas.
LOT 3
- Individuals at the time of signing the contract must be registered as a sole proprietorship or legal entity (LLC / FY / PE) , who are adults, able-bodied and able-bodied citizens of Ukraine and permanently reside in the relevant target areas;
- Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) , registered at the time of application in the relevant target areas;
- Farms (FG) registered at the time of application in the relevant target areas; and
- Private enterprises (PE) , registered at the time of application in the relevant target areas.
