UN Women has launched proposals within the framework of the Spotlight Initiative in Honduras and seeks to contract a leading non-governmental organization to design and implement a Feminist Fund that provides technical and financial support to women’s and feminist organizations in the targeted territories, Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, Choloma, La Ceiba and Intibucá.
Pillars
To respond to this proposal, the Interagency Spotlight Initiative is structured to implement six (6) pillars:
- Marked norms and policies.
- Institutional Fortress.
- Influence prevention in the exchange of social norms and behaviors.
- Quality services and prevention and resilience services.
- Date and information management to orient the policies and programs enrolled in VCMN and feminism.
- Advance on the movement of women and civil society organizations.
Strategy
- The Feminist Foundation operates under the auspices of a renowned advocate, directing access to funding exclusively to organizations, groups and speeches of women and feminists in the 5 municipalities prioritized by the Spotlight Initiative, independently of which they have no members, simplifying the requirements and facilitating the elaboration and financing of proposals.
- The Feminist Foundation will meet with a participatory committee formed by women belonging to the feminist movement in Honduras and included in the National Group of the Civil Society Reference, which will participate in the evaluation and selection of proposals that will be funded, followed by conflict of interest.
- The Feminist Fund operates through mechanisms that allow direct distribution of funds to the OMF, as well as capacity building strategies for the different types.
- The Foundation has a special focus on the territories of La Ceiba and Intibucá, including the groups that define the rights of women and their neces- sary origins of people and historically marginalized.
Beneficiaries
The selection criteria for the women’s and feminist organizations that will be beneficiaries of the Feminist Foundation, will compile at least the following requirements:
- To be considered a Feminist Organization and / or Organization of women, the statutes and / or other documents written by the mission / visions of the organization should reflect on the compromise with the lucha against the multiple forms of discrimination and advancement the equality of gender and the rights of women. The organization has to deal with the underlying causes / systems / structures, including the patriarchy and the dynamics of power based on the gender, which perpetuates the VCMN and the violence of gender, and works for transformers.
- The OMF beneficiaries must be located at least in one of the localized municipalities (San Pedro Sula, Choloma, La Ceiba, Intibucá and Tegucigalpa).
- The proposals funded by the Feminist Fund must be implemented by a group / organization of the collection of women and / or feminists. They do not accept individual initiatives.
- The financed projects will have a minimum implementation period of three months and a maximum of four months.
- Quedan excludes from this post the organizations of women and feminists that in the previous year had a presumption above US100,000.
- It is not required that the group / organization / collective is constituted legally. However, it will be necessary to demonstrate that this account for those with a year of experience in the thematic priorities and that they have a governing form (directive, assembly) and where women represent at least 50% in leadership positions.
- All proposals must include a sustainability component
Funding Information
The total presupposition with what is counted for the development of this proposal is of 380,000 USD.
Competencies
- Technical / Functional Skills Required.
- Experience, knowledge and participation in gender projects, elimination of violence against women and children and groups insufficiently represented.
- Experience, knowledge and participation in projects with the feminist movement in Honduras and in its mechanisms and reasons for existing legislation at national and local level.
- Experience in coordinating initiatives with women’s and feminist organizations in communal, multicultural and thematic contexts such as the prevention of violence against women and men, with the knowledge of the Central American and Honduran regions.
- Participation in national platforms and / or regional organizations of women and feminists that address the issue of gender-based violence and feminism.
- Previous experience in the management and administration of foundation funds for organizations, groups and speeches of women and feminists in Honduras.
- Unpleasant experience in projects developed in at least one of the priorities municipalities, and probable capacity for operational deployment in the municipalities / territories focused.
- Other competencies that, if they are not necessary, can be an advantage for the performance of services.
- Experiences in innovative initiatives of artistic, cultural and / or base based on TICs related to the themes of gender, centered preference in violence against women and women and women.
- Experienced experiences in intergenerational dialogues and work with young women, indigenous women and Afro-descendants.
- Relevant experience in societies with the UN Women, other agencies of the United Nations, governors, NGOs and other actors in development
