The UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECARO) is inviting women civil society organizations (CSOs), women’s studies, and research centres promoting women’s rights and gender equality to submit a call for proposals to set up an expert working group on the multiple forms and intersectionality of discrimination and violence to contribute to the implementation of the Programme Ending Discrimination and Violence against Women: Implementing Norms, Changing Minds.
The programme is anchored in the normative frameworks of the Convention for the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination (CEDAW) and the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (also known as Istanbul Convention), and in alignment with the European Union (EU) accession standards on gender equality. The expert working group will address, research, and make recommendations from a regional perspective on law reform, policy development, and provision of support services.
Funding Information
The proposed intervention size and budget request will have to fall between a minimum indicative amount of EUR 40.000 and a maximum amount of EUR 60.000.

May 2017 – March 2018 (tentatively)
Eligibility Criteria
- Women’s rights organizations that have specialised knowledge, expertise and track record of working in women’s human rights and ending violence against women programming with a focus on disadvantage groups of women/ women from minorities and/or seeking to develop a stronger intersectional approach to their work.
- International civil society organizations that have presence in the region and have strong track record on programming on EVAW.
- Research institutions which have previous research experience on intersectional approaches to gender equality and/or ending violence against women and girls.
- The applying organization must be legally registered.
