The call for applications for grants is one of the activities within the second phase of the Via Dinarica project, which implements and co-finances the United Nations Development Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH), with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID BiH) and the Agency for Development Cooperation of the Republic of Italy (AICS).
The second phase of this project is implemented in cooperation with domestic partners – the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska, local authorities, NGOs, and private sector active in tourism. The Via Dinarica initiative aims to promote significant natural and cultural resources in the Western Balkans.
This public call is co-financed by USAID, AICS, the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and the following local self-government units to which this call applies: Bosanski Petrovac, Gacko, Konjic, Mostar, Mrkonjic Grad, Posusje, Prijedor, Prozor-Rama, Ravno, Rudo, Sokolac, Stolac and Trebinje, and its goal is to further contribute to the development of the Via Dinarica initiative, as well as the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, which hit the tourism sector the hardest.
This public call for grants is intended to provide support to users along the Via Dinarica trail for the development of the Via Dinarica initiative, as well as recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic that hit the tourism sector the hardest.
Priority Areas
- Priority Area 1: Improving the conditions and expanding the capacity of tourist accommodation facilities along the Via Dinarica trail within the following local self-government units: Bosanski Petrovac, Gacko, Konjic, Mostar, Mrkonjic Grad, Posušje, Prijedor, Prozor-Rama, Ravno, Rudo, Sokolac, Stolac, and Trebinje.
- Priority area 2: Improving existing and increasing the diversity of tourist services in the field of nature tourism (cultural, historical, sports-recreational and adventure tourism, etc.) along the Via Dinarica trail within the following local government units: Bosanski Petrovac, Gacko, Konjic, Mostar, Mrkonjic Grad, Posušje, Prijedor, Prozor-Rama, Ravno, Rudo, Sokolac, Stolac, and Trebinje.
Funding Information
- The total available financial resources within this public call amount to 374,000.00 KM,
- Grants per application can amount to a minimum of 13,000 KM to a maximum of 17,000 KM.
Eligibility Criteria
- Priority 1:
- Private companies and crafts registered for accommodation rental services,
- Natural persons registered in the competent municipal service for the provision of accommodation services such as family farms (OPG), rural households of the accommodation type and the like,
- Associations, organizations, clubs, and mountaineering societies that manage mountaineering facilities (mountain houses, mountain lodges, shelters, etc.),
- Public institutions that manage protected areas of nature and accommodation facilities within them,
- Applicants may have project partners (such as higher-level co-institutions, NGOs, and the private sector).
- Priority 2:
- Private companies and crafts registered and/or active in the field of tourism (tour operators, travel agencies, accommodation, and catering facilities, etc.),
- Natural persons registered in the competent municipal service for the provision of tourist and catering services, agritourism, and the like,
- Associations, organizations, clubs, and sports associations active in the field of tourism,
- Public institutions that manage protected areas of nature,
- Applicants may have project partners (institutions from higher levels of government, NGOs, private sector).
